Minnesota COVID Hospitalizations Steadily Falling
St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News- The statistics indicate COVID-19 activity in Minnesota continues to slowly subside but the virus is still contributing to the deaths of dozens of Minnesotans each day.
The State Health Department today reported 65 additional coronavirus related deaths and five of the deaths were in the southeastern corner of the state. An Olmsted County resident in their early 70s, three elderly Houston County residents and a Winona County resident were among the people whose deaths were reported today.
The health department reported just over 2700 new COVID cases statewide, including 61 in Olmsted County. The testing total was above 58,000 and the daily testing positivity rate dropped to about 4.7-percent.
COVID hospitalizations continued to drop. The overall total was under 1,150 with 270 of the hospitalized Minnesotans in intensive care. The number of non-ICU patients fell below 900. Both numbers were the lowest reported since the first part of November.
