Don’t Skip These 2 Iconic Italian Restaurants in Illinois Before You Die
Let's just say you're putting together an array of restaurants you need to hit up before your time on this mortal coil wraps up. We call these bucket lists for a reason, and as a fan of Italian food, skipping out on a fantastic meal at these Illinois hot spots is tantamount to committing a food crime.
It's not that serious, but you catch my drift. What I'm saying is that life is short, and you should stop wasting time at restaurants that aren't among the very best. I understand that we have to take time, money, and other factors into consideration, but if we didn't have to, these restaurants are where we should probably eat most of our meals.
LoveFood Names Two Must-Try Italian Restaurants in Illinois
LoveFood's story We've Found Your State's Bucket-List Italian Restaurant For An Unforgettable Meal highlights some fabulous joints. While perusing, I thought I'd just see the prerequisite "one," and then the list would move on to the next state, but in Illinois, where Italian food, for some, can be a way of life, we got "two."
That's a good thing because these two places look amazing. The first stop on the kick-the-bucket food trip is Sapori Trattoria, located at 2701 North Halsted Street in Chicago.
What to Order at Sapori Trattoria in Chicago
Per LoveFood:
Start your meal with the calamari fritti with fresh marinara or try the burrata platter served with roasted tomato relish, prosciutto, and pickled peppers. Other menu favorites include spaghetti in red sauce with veal meatballs and Italian sausage, and pasta stuffed with lobster in a creamy sauce.

That description alone makes me think dinner at Sapori Trattoria would be good enough for a last meal, but wait, there's more.
Evanston's Trattoria Demi Is Another Can't-Miss Spot
The second restaurant LoveFood threw all kinds of flowers to in Illinois is Trattoria Demi at 1571 Sherman Avenue, Suite 1 in Evanston.
LoveFood says:
Diners rave about the hearty beef meatballs in the joint’s signature marinara sauce, as well as the shrimp risotto. It also has a charming terrace out front, great for enjoying antipasti in the warmer months.
