Enjoy the weekend, but be prepared for delays on your way back to the office or job site due to a major Rockford road closure beginning Monday, October 5.

Road Closure Begins Monday

Drivers in Rockford should get ready for a temporary traffic change on a major roadway next week as crews complete sanitary sewer repairs on Spring Creek Road.

Work is scheduled to begin Monday (10/5) and, without unexpected weather delays, should be completed by the end of the day on Wednesday, October 7.

Westbound Lanes Will Be Closed

The westbound lanes of Spring Creek Road will be closed beginning approximately 1,500 feet west of Camella Court and continuing to Starkweather Road.

During the project, traffic will be moved into the center turn lane through the work zone. Drivers should expect traffic control measures in the area while crews complete the sewer repairs.

Rockford Drivers Should Consider Alternate Routes

Motorists traveling through the area are being advised to use caution and watch for workers, signs, and traffic-control devices.

Drivers who normally use this stretch of Spring Creek Road may want to consider an alternate route while the repairs are underway, particularly during busier travel periods.

Weather could also interrupt the construction schedule, meaning the work could take longer than currently planned, which means delays in the area may be extended.
