I've always told myself, "Nothing is important enough to drive recklessly" and I stand by that every day when I'm sharing the road with others.  If someone honks at me right when my light turns green, I do take a few seconds before accelerating into the intersection because I know darn well someone is going to speed through the intersection like they've got somewhere to be that's so, so important.  Sure, there are emergencies, but to voluntarily drive recklessly?  Not a good look.
