Every winter in Illinois, we all brace ourselves for the glorious seasonal combo: icy roads, blinding snow, and drivers who suddenly forget how cars work. It's like the first snowfall wipes people's memory clean.
Look, I love Illinois, but some of y'all should not be behind the wheel once December hits, or at least when the roads start to get really, really bad. I'm saying this with love, and also fear, because I share the same roads as you.
Here's my hot take of the week: There are certain breeds of people who should be banned from driving when Illinois turns into a frozen tundra.

Listen, I'm not saying you need your keys taken away forever, just for winter. There's a technique and skill to driving on the snowy, icy roads in the winter around here and if you're not willing to learn how to drive properly, that's a problem. I'm so cautious when driving with arounds on the road around me, so make a conscious effort to do the same! Don't drive reckless, and please stay off your phone!
