When it comes to restaurants, what's your jam? For me, it’s the little guys only every time. I’ll take a family-run spot over a chain without even thinking twice.

And really, who doesn’t love those unassuming places that totally surprise you? The ones that don’t look like much from the outside, but once you walk through the door, you’re greeted with only a few tables, mismatched mugs, and a staff that knows your name and likely your order. There’s nothing better than that small-town charm… well, except maybe the food.

Minnesota is no stranger to spots like these. From tucked-away cafés in tiny towns to mom and pop diners that have been around for decades, we’ve got a ton of faves the locals swear by!  But which one is the best of the best?

Thankfully, MSN took on the challenge and put out a list of top-rated hole-in-the-wall restaurants in all 50 states, using glowing online reviews as their guide and it sounds like Minnesota’s pick definitely lives up to the hype (sadly, I haven't been yet).

Classic Minnesota Restaurant Named One of the Best in the Country:

Minnesota's best hole-in-the-wall restaurant is Duluth Grill, a family-owned favorite in the heart of Duluth. They've been winning people over with their next-level comfort food. We're talking big hearty burrito bowls, mouth-watering french toast, and one menu item that reviewers can’t stop raving about: the Korean Brussels sprouts. YUM!

Bob Dylan may have been born in Duluth, but what makes this city iconic, is the Duluth Grill. A solid American breakfast, with great service and even better food. And it's not some dingy diner, this place is classy, modern and has a kick-@$$ fire place outside. Coffee is amazing, and their hash brown game is on point! This is a place I will always return to whenever I am in Duluth, a true gem! - Arash on Google Reviews

I'm literally drooling over here looking at their food videos on Instagram!

They are open daily 8a-3p. Want to see the menu, check out their sister restaurants, or learn more? Click here to go to their website.
