What Locals Think Should Go In Rochester’s At Home Location After They Close
We learned earlier this week that At Home in Rochester, Minnesota is going to be closing. The company filed for bankruptcy and is now closing locations across the country, including our location, sadly.
CBS News reports that inflation and tariffs are being blamed. In total, 26 At Home stores will be closing across the US.

What Was in the Building Before At Home in Rochester?
Before At Home, Shopko was in that building on South Broadway. It's a big space! Plus, it's in a part of town that's been getting new businesses, the biggest one being Total Wine.
At Home in Rochester will close by September 30th, 2025. But then what? That's a large building with nothing in it.
Well, there are lots of possibilities and locals have opinions!

What Should Replace At Home in Rochester?
I asked on the 106.9 KROC Facebook page what you thought should replace At Home once it closes, and you came up with some great ideas.
Anytime a business in a large building closes, there's always one suggestion that pops up every time that I am all for. I can't believe this company hasn't pulled the trigger yet on bringing a location to Rochester!
We'll get to that one among the other recommendations you gave.
Indoor Go-Kart Track
World's Largest White Castle
Definitely a joke, but still a good one 😂
Indoor Pickleball
It always seems that there are never enough pickleball courts!
Roller Rink
Indoor Mini Golf
Whole Foods
Mayo should buy it
This was a really interesting suggestion from Holly Jo. She writes:
Some people may not want to hear it, but Mayo should buy it. Just for testing so patients (especially local patients) have an option other than downtown for their mammograms, non- invasive imaging, and maybe another lab location.
Honestly, that's a really good idea. Would I prefer something fun? Absolutely. But would I be mad if Mayo did this? Not at all.
Nordstrom Rack
Curling Center
Whirly Ball
I've never done Whirly Ball but they have it in the Twin Cities and it looks really fun. You play on teams and it's bumper cars meets lacrosse meets basketball meets hockey.
Dave and Buster's
This is the one that gets suggested all the time, I 100% agree with this, and yet, somehow, we still haven't managed to get a Dave and Buster's in town! Seriously, do we need a petition or something? A Dave and Buster's would be perfect in this town.
