Throughout Minnesota, we have tons of unique events to check out, especially in the summer. Two of these events are film festivals happening next week and as one of them puts it, they're quite unique.

There were rumors that the Sundance Film Festival would be coming to Minnesota but unfortunately, that is no longer true.

No, these two film festivals are on a much smaller scale than Sundance but still pretty awesome. Especially if you love animals.

Pet Video Fest 2024 at CHS Field

One of the film festivals is the Pet Video Film Festival happening at CHS Field! In the past, it's been called the Cat Video Film Festival. But this year they opened it up to all pets.

If you wanted to, you could submit your own video of your pet for the film festival. For this year the submission time is over but keep that in mind for next year's festival!

You can head to CHS Field to watch tons of great pet videos on Friday, August 2nd. Tickets are $15 and $1 from each ticket will go to the animal rescue The Bond Between.

CatVideoFest 2024 Film Festival

The other unique film festival is all about cats! The organizers of CatVideoFest went through tons of cat video submissions and have selected the best and put them into one big 75-minute long video for us to enjoy.

It will take place at The Main Cinema in Minneapolis on Saturday, August 3rd, and Sunday, August 4th. Showtimes for both dates are 1 PM and tickets cost $12. A portion of ticket proceeds will go to help local cats in need.
