It's hard to believe, but once again the calendar has rolled around to an event we all love to laugh with and at, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) Name A Snowplow Contest!

Don't let Betty Whiteout be alone on the road, let's keep Plowy McPlowFace from getting too big an ego, and I think we all know Ctrl Salt Delete could use a friend.

Fast. That's how you enter a name...because the submissions are only open thru midnight on Friday, Dec. 16, 2022.

There are some rules, we'll get to those in a minute.

Once submissions close, MnDOT staff "will review all the submissions, select some of the best ideas, and invite the public to vote on their favorites in January 2023." As usual, the eight names with the most votes will end up on a snowplow in each of MnDOT's 8 districts.

Some Basic Rules to Name a MnDOT Snowplow

  • Each person may only submit one name.

  • Gosh darn it, nothing vulgar, please. Any submissions that include profanity or, other inappropriate language, will not be considered.
  • Politically inspired names (including phrases, slogans or plays on politicians’ names) will not be considered. Naming snowplows is meant to be fun and lighthearted, so we’re going to keep this contest nonpartisan and nonpolitical.

Are you craving a burger? Open up DoorDash and one of the options for a tasty burger and fries is the extremely popular MrBeast Burger. In December 2020, MrBeast Burger opened its first restaurant in a redecorated Burger Boy restaurant and offered free food to a line of people at times that was 20 miles long. That day, it was announced that MrBeast Burger was opening 300 locations across the United States and joined the list of ghost kitchens operating out of existing restaurant kitchens.
