Big Rig Leaking Mysterious Fluid On Highway Turns Out To Be 40,000lbs of Frank’s RedHot
If you're a lover of Frank's RedHot, you might see an empty spot on a shelf for a week or two, because of a little issue that happened during transport in Ohio.
The BST&G Fire District, north of Columbus, Ohio, shared several photos of a pretty unique cleanup they had to be dispatched out to on Interstate 71.
As the truck was travelling down the interstate, it began leaking a mystery fluid. If you saw it, you'd think it was transmission fluid, until you realized it was coming from the trailer. Then, you'd think it was some sort of nasty slew from a meat processing factory or something. What it was, was even more delicious.
“Ultimately, the semi got off the highway and to one of the truck stops. The mystery fluid turnout out to be a trailer full of 40,000 lbs. of Frank’s Red Hot leaking!” the fire district said on Facebook.
That's like 4,762 gallons of Frank's.
The spill posed concerns about environmental effects. The hot sauce is acidic, and the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency was called in and responders attempted to contain the substance so it didn't go down any drains.
Some commenters said that they had a hard time getting the sauce off of their cars.
