There are eight teams left in the Minnesota Baseball Association Class C Amateur Baseball Tournament and four teams remaining in Class B.

Champions will be determined on Labor Day with the forecast Sunday and Monday perfect for players and fans alike.

In Class B, Miesville Mudhens picked the Hopkins Berries 9-2, scoring 3 runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back.

The Mudhens had 12 hits, 4 errors and left 8 runners on base while the Berries cranked out 11 hits with 2 errors and 10 stranded on the basepaths.

Ben Vujovich led Miesville with 4 runs scored on 2 hits including a double, 1 RBI.  Joey Werner had 3 RBI with a home run, and Deryk Marks added a solo homer among his 2 hits.  Brock Rinehart also smacked 2 hits with an RBI.

Trevor Koenig started the game on the mound at the Mini-Met in Jordan allowing 10 hits over 7 innings with 4 runs all earned, 1 walk, 4 strikeouts while throwing 121 pitches, 83 strikes,  Cooper Smith threw the last 2 innings with 1 hit given up, 1 walk, 2 strikeouts, and threw 28 pitches, 15 strikes.

Five pitchers took the hill for the Berries.  Ben Shepherd started, going 4 and 1/3 innings, 7 hits, 6 runs, all earned, 3 walks, 4 strikeouts.  Shepherd threw 83 pitches, 52 strikes.

The Mudhens play Noon Sunday, September 1, 2024 against Champlin Park in Belle Plaine with the winner advancing to the title game, 6:00 p.m. Monday, September 2,2024 in Belle Plaine.

The other semi-finals game has defending State Class B Champion Air Freight Unlimited going up against Lyon's Pub, 3:00 p.m. Sunday in Belle Plaine.

Class C, Courtland Cubs ended Red Wing Aces season, 4-0, Saturday, August 31, 2024 in Green Isle.

The Cubs advance to the Exciting Eight with Buffalo Bulldogs their opponent Sunday, September 1, 2024, 1:30 p.m. in Green Isle.

On the same side of the bracket last year's Class C Runner-Up Bird Island faces Waconia Lakers Sunday 11:00 a.m. in Green Isle.

Other side of the bracket Jordan rolled over Sauk Centre Titans 9-2 Friday night in Jordan.  The Brewers will play Buckman Billygoats, who defeated New Ulm Brewers 6-4, Saturday, August 31, 2024 in Belle Plaine.

The winner goes to 4:00 p.m. Sunday Semi-Final game in Jordan.

Young America Cardinals ended Union Hill Bulldogs season 4-0 Friday evening in Green Isle.

The Bulldogs were held to 3 hits and committed 6 errors in the game.  They left 8 runners on base.  The Cardinals had 8 hits, 1 error, 11 left on base.

Josh Lenz went the distance for Young America with 11 strikeouts, 3 walks on 120 pitches, 85 strikes.

Joe Becker, Jack Becker, and Nathan Osborne each singled for Union Hill.

Gavin Bergman, draftee from New Prague started pitching for the Bulldogs, went 6 innings, gave up 6 hits, 4 runs, 3 earned, 3 walks, 5 strikeouts while throwing 118 pitches, 67 strikes.

Jake Hemann threw the final 3 innings, allowing 2 hits, no runs with 1 strikeout.  Hemann threw 46 pitches, 26 strikes.

Four players for Young America swiped bases in the game.

Brice Panning led the offense with 4 hits including a double.  Joe Kley had a RBI double, Hunter Rickaby added a double in the win.

Young America will go up against Fairmont Martins who defeated Sartell 7-0 Saturday, August 31, 2024 in Jordan.  The first pitch scheduled for Sunday, September 1, 2024 in Jordan at 1:30 p.m.

Class C state title game is 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 2, 2024 in Jordan.
