
Goodhue School Request Passes, Tri-City United Fails
There will undoubtedly be a recount in Goodhue where a $800 per pupil levy authorization passed tonight by six votes.
The authorization is four ten years, and Goodhue did not tie an annual inflation rate increase to their request. Most districts did include the inflation piece.
There were 296 yes votes, 290 no votes in Goodhue.
Tri-City United schools was attempting to get authorization for school building bonds in the amount of $39,990,000 dollars to make improvements to all their buildings in Montgomery, Lonsdale and LeCenter.
The measure failed, 1,088 total no votes to 926 yes or 54.02% to 45.98%.

Belle Plaine voters approved school building bonds totaling $65,000,000 to convert Oak Crest Elementary into a Middle/High school and repurpose current Jr/Sr High into an elementary facility.

New Prague request for $510 per pupil levy increase passed 3,927 to 2,049 (65.71% to 34.29%. The increase is for ten years with an inflation increase included each year.
The south metropolitan area easily passed requests in Lakeville, Farmington and Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan school districts.
Farmington request was for $1,236.60 per pupil in the general education levy for 10 years with an increase year by the rate of inflation.
4,157 (57.54%) yes votes were cast and 3,088 (42.46%) no votes.
Lakeville voters approved renewing an expiring capital project levy to fun technology upgrades. 7,665 (68.99%) yes votes to 3,445 (31.01%) no.
Special election for a school board seat was close with Tony Reichenberger garnering 5,466 (51.28%) of votes cast and Brett Nicholson 5,139 (48.22%).
Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan passed a capital project levy authorization for 5.015% times the district net tax capacity which will raise $15,461,354 a year for ten years.
Owatonna's request for $700 per pupil for ten years with inflation included each year failed. 4,941 (61.85%) No, 3,048 (38.15%) Yes, and it was voted down in all eleven precincts.
Cannon Falls passed their $950 per pupil authorization subject to an annual increase at the rate of inflation each year for 10 years. 1,504 (68.9%) Yes to 679 (31.10% No.
Shakopee passed two questions. One asking for $620 per pupil the other $310 per pupil both for ten years and including the inflation increase each year.
Cleveland passed a $750 per pupil levy authorization for ten years including the inflation component.
There were 517 (52.65%) Yes votes cast and 465 (47.35%) No.
Austin voters turned down building bonds totaling $54,700,000. A second question was included but would only happen if the first question passed. Vote on the building bonds was 2,278 No and 1,551 Yes. That's 59.49% to 40.51%.
NO results yet from Byron or Triton. Traditionally we receive those the day following the election.
