That’s according to a criminal complaint filed on Thursday. The alleged theft occurred last December.
The court document says a woman went to an undisclosed UPS store in Rochester to ship the bracelet to a jewelry store in New Mexico to return it on Dec. 5. The bracelet was valued at $3,000, the complaint says.
On Dec. 8, an employee at the jewelry shop informed the woman that the package arrived without the bracelet.

The woman told officers the only person who knew of the package’s contents was the clerk at the store who processed the shipment. He’s been identified as 24-year-old Dylan Joseph Mazzocca.
Investigators learned the Rochester man sold a bracelet to a pawn shop in the Twin Cities after the reported theft, the complaint says.
An Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office Detective went to the pawn store to retrieve the bracelet and the woman who reported the theft identified it as the piece of jewelry she attempted to ship for return, the complaint says.
The court document says surveillance video from the pawn shop shows Mazzocca at the shop selling the item. He denied stealing the bracelet and told investigators the item he sold to the pawn shop belonged to his mother.
Mazzocca is charged with a count of felony theft. His first court appearance has been scheduled for next month.
