Stockton, MN (KROC-AM News) - A teenage motorist suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash involving a school bus this morning on a rural road in Winona County.

The Winona County Sheriff's Office says the crash was reported shortly after 6 AM on Winona County Road 20 less than a quarter of a mile north of Highway 14 near Stockton. The crash report indicates the 17-year-old boy was driving a car south when it collided head-on with the northbound school bus.

He was transported to the Winona hospital with serious injuries, while the 43-year-old man driving the bus was not injured in the collision but was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries he suffered after the crash. The bus driver and the teenage motorist were both alone in their vehicles. Their names have not been released.

The Winona County Sheriff's Office is in charge of the investigation. The State Patrol is assisting by conducting a crash reconstruction.
