Stewartville Firefighters Battle Blaze at LRS Recycling Facility
Stewartville, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Stewartville Fire Department was called into action Saturday after a fire broke out inside a recycling facility operated by LRS Waste Management.
A news release on the incident says Stewartville firefighters were dispatched to the recycling transfer center on the southwest edge of Stewartville around 7 AM. When they arrived at the scene, smoke was pouring out of a large steel sided-pole shed filled with recycling and waste materials.
The fire department estimated that 25,000 gallons of water and 20 gallons of foam was used to contain the fire. No injuries were reported.
The news release does not indicate whether the cause of the fire was identified.
The Stewartville Fire Department was at the scene for about three and half hours.
