Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A long-standing annual holiday tradition continues this year at the Rochester Salvation Army downtown social services center.

The charitable organization will be hosting a traditional Thanksgiving meal from 11:30 AM through 12:30 PM today. In announcing the event, the Salvation Army stressed that everyone is welcome to attend for food and fellowship.

A news release says the meal was made possible by the Rochester Scheel's Store, which sponsored the event and had members of its staff volunteer to assist the Salvation Army in preparing the food. The meal will consist of turkey, stuffing, potatoes, veggies, and pumpkin pie.

‘We are so lucky to have such generous supporters in this community,” said Major Candace Voeller, Corps Officer of The Salvation Army in Rochester, “This meal is for anyone in need of nourishment or companionship on Thanksgiving. We want everyone to know they are welcome and we are happy to serve them.”

The Salvation Army Social Services Center is located at 115 First Avenue Northeast in Rochester.
