Police Captain Casey Moilanen said Monday officers responded to a residence in the 600 block of 6th Ave. Southeast after the 24-year-old woman living at the house reported her catalytic converter stolen off her Toyota Prius. Moilanen said the theft call came in around 7:45 a.m. Thursday.

Investigators have obtained surveillance footage that captured the theft. Moilanen says the footage shows two possibly Asian males in their 20’s or 30’s exit a dark gray four-door Toyota sedan and lift the Prius up using a jack. The footage then shows one of the suspects get under the woman’s vehicle with a battery-powered saw then hand the car part to the other suspect.

The two men then fled the residence in the sedan. So far no arrests have been made.
