Officers were dispatched to the reports of gunfire in the 800 block of 16th Ave. Southeast around 6:20 Tuesday night.
Rochester Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson previously said the investigation indicated the two shooting suspects were firing at each other.
No injuries were reported. Police say an apartment and vehicle were struck by the gunfire.
Rochester Man Charged in Apartment Shooting Has Violent Past
On Wednesday, police identified the suspects 34-year-old Scott Bunch and 29-year-old Alonzo Kelly. Bunch was arrested shortly after the shooting and Kelly was taken into custody several hours later.
The charges say several people at the apartments identified Bunch as one of the shooting suspects.
Bunch is charged with reckless discharge of a firearm and possession of a firearm after being convicted of a crime of violence. The Rochester man's conditional bail was set at $100,000.
Court records indicate Buch was convicted of first-degree robbery in a 2015 case in Olmsted County, a conviction that prohibits him from possessing a gun.
The court filing does not say what led to the shooting.
Kelly’s first court appearance has not yet been scheduled. Olmsted County Adult Detention Center records indicate he’s being held on suspicion of possessing a firearm after being convicted of a crime of violence.
