Young Red Wing Man Dies in Tree Climbing Accident Along Minnesota Lake Shore
Aitkin, MN (KROC-AM News)- An apparent tree climbing accident along a Minnesota lake shore claimed the life of a Red Wing man over the long holiday weekend.

The deadly incident occurred during a gathering on the Fourth of July.
A news release issued by the Aitkin County Sheriff’s office says he fell an estimated 25 feet.
Red Wing Man Killed in 25-Foot Fall from Tree On Shore of Gun Lake in Northern Minnesota
Deputies responded to a property along Gun Lake, which is about 50 miles east of the Brainerd Lakes area.
The investigation indicates the accident victim was climbing a large white pine when a branch estimated to be two inches in diameter snapped and caused the man to plunge to the ground.
First responders found the victim unconscious and suffering from what the news release describes as “multiple severe internal injuries.”
He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead after life-saving measures. Authorities have identified the man as 27-year-old Henry M. Cannon.
Cannon’s body was transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office for further examination and a toxicology, the news release says.
