
Minneapolis Police Respond to Three Murders Over 4th of July Weekend
Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News)- Three lives were taken by violent crimes over the Independence Day weekend in Minneapolis.

The first homicide happened Friday morning, the second occurred Friday night and the third happened Sunday afternoon.
Two of the murder victims were killed in shootings and the third died from a stabbing. One arrest has been made in connection with the three killings.

Three Lives Lost in Pair of Shootings and Stabbing Over 4th of July Weekend in Minneapolis
Police say one of two men riding electric scooters was hit by gunfire in the 2100 block of Dupont Ave. North shortly after 2:30 Friday morning. The other rider called 911 after the victim collapsed from being shot.
Authorities say the victim, described as a man in his 20’s, was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and died in the hospital. The deadly shooting remains under investigation.
Around 11:20 Friday night, firefighters were alerted to an unconscious man in the 2700 block of Bloomington Ave. First responders later learned the man in his 20’s had been shot.
The wounded man was transported to a hospital where he died from his injuries.
Shortly after 5 p.m. on Sunday, officers responded to the 4900 block of Hiawatha Ave. on the report of a stabbing.
Police say the man was found suffering from life-threatening stab wounds and was taken to a hospital where he died. Officers canvassed the area and arrested the suspect in the 5300 block of 46th Ave. South without incident.
The names of the murder victims and the identity of the one murder suspect in custody have not been released. All three homicide cases are under investigation.
