Hayfield, MN (KROC-AM News) - Law enforcement was called today to investigate a threat involving a Rochester area school.

A message sent out to the parents and guardians of students enrolled in the Hayfield schools indicates a threat was made by a student within a Hayfield school. It goes on to say that the school administration and the local law enforcement thoroughly investigated and determined it to be a non-credible threat.

In the message to the parents, Hayfield Public Schools Superintendent Gregg Slaathaug indicated the student involved will face "the necessary consequences." He described it as a "threat made in vain, and at no time was there any real danger to our students or staff." The nature of the threat was not disclosed.

Slaathaug's message also stated that the Hayfield schools will continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of all students and staff.
