Byron, MN (KROC-AM News)- The State Patrol has released more information regarding a crash that happened on Hwy. 14 in Olmsted County Tuesday morning.

Traffic in Byron was slowed as crews responded to the scene of a multi-vehicle crash. 

The two-vehicle collision was reported shortly after 6:20 a.m. at Hwy. 14’s stop light-controlled intersection with 10th Ave. Southeast in Byron.

A westbound semi and southbound SUV collided in the intersection. The collision caused the SUV to overturn and come to rest in the grass median, the state crash report says.

Byron Man Taken to St. Mary's Hospital After Crashing With Semi at Hwy. 14 Intersection

37-year-old Jason Robert Kruger of Byron was identified as the driver of the SUV. He was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for treatment of what are being described as non-life-threatening injuries.

40-year-old Igor Puia of Palatine, IL was driving the semi. He escaped the two-vehicle crash without injuries. 

Both drivers were buckled up and alcohol was not involved in the crash, the state report says. The report does not described the status of the stop light at the time of the collision. 

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, Byron First Responders, the Byron Fire Department, Mayo Clinic Ambulance and the Minnesota Department of Transportation also responded to the crash.
