3 People Critically Injured in Crash That Closed Section of I-90
(Austin, MN (KROC-AM News) - Three people in an RV were critically injured in a traffic crash that shut down a section of I-90 in Austin Thursday afternoon.
The State Patrol says the incident occurred around 1 PM on westbound I-90 near the Oakland Avenue West interchange on the west edge of Austin. Traffic was detoured off the westbound lanes of the freeway from Highway 218 to the Oakland Avenue West interchange for several hours after the crash.

The preliminary State Patrol report on the crash indicates the RV and a pickup truck were both headed west on I-90 when they collided.
The State Patrol says the RV was driven by 75-year-old William Byassee of Hamburg Pennsylvania. His passengers were identified as 67-year-old Kimberly Byassee and 13-year-old Abigail Byasse. They were all transported by Mayo Clinic ambulance to St. Mary's Hospital with what the State Patrol described as life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the pickup was listed as 21-year-old Logan Murphy of Austin. He and his passenger, a 19-year-old Austin man, were not injured in the crash.
