2 Arrested in Connection With Child Being Shot in Elgin Last Week
Wabasha, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Wabasha County Sheriff's Office today reported two arrests in connection with an accidental shooting last week that wounded a young child.
Sheriff's Captain Curt Struwe deputies, with assistance from the Rochester Police Department, apprehended Raymond Tony Duque and Nicole Lynn the McGee.
He says Duque is expected to be charged with illegal possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a crime of violence, three counts of child endangerment by firearm access, and negligent storage of firearms. The possible charges against McGee include three counts of child endangerment by firearm access, and negligent storage of firearms.
Captain Struwe says the arrests stem from a shooting that occurred in Elgin on June 25. He says a loaded shotgun was left unsecured in a vehicle and a six-year-old boy was accidentally shot while two other children were also in the vehicle.

Following the incident, the child's injuries were described as serious. He remains hospitalized, but information about his medical condition is not available.
