It’s Not Too Late To Get your Farm Fresh Strawberries…

Is it too late to pick strawberries since we are already into July?

According to our friends at Svihel Vegetable Farm in Foley, it might be too late to PICK your strawberries, but you can still come and get some while supplies last.

Svihel Vegetable Farm in Foley just sent out a message on social media thanking everyone for stopping by during strawberry picking season this year. They also shared some great information about how you can still get your hands on ripe, delicious strawberries, even though their strawberry-picking season has ended.

'Our June-bearing strawberry season is coming to an end. We closed our u-pick for the season, but we still have pre-picked strawberries available.

Right now, we have started to pick some of our everbearing strawberries and will continue to pick those until it freezes in the fall. There is a limited supply of the everbearing strawberries, but when they start producing a larger supply, we plan on opening a u-pick on those strawberries as well.' 

That means that there will still be time to get your strawberry picking in, but we will have to wait until it's time.

IT'S SWEET CORN SEASON!

On July 1st, Svihel Vegetable Farm in Foley started picking their first sweet corn for the year, and the homegrown sweet corn is being sold at the farm, but also at Farmer's Markets that they attend, which include:

• Farmer's Market in Waite Park- in the parking lot of Your Home Improvement Co at 614 2nd Street
• Farmer's Market - Coborn's Parking lot in Sauk Rapids on Thursdays
• Farmer's Market - St. Cloud on Saturdays (downtown)
• Farmer's Market - St. Joe on Fridays

FRESH RASPBERRIES ANYONE? GET THEM NOW

Also in season right now are raspberries. Svihel has a u-pick on raspberries, so if you have the urge to pick some fruit, you can still stop by and enjoy.

What began as a small roadside produce stand in rural Minnesota has grown into one of the area's well-known family farms. It all started with a simple goal of providing fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables to the community, and customers quickly embraced what they had to offer.
