Free Workshop Helps Minnesotans Prepare for Crisis
Life is moving fast! We are especially excited to get out of the house now that summer has arrived, and everyone here in Minnesota is making the most of the warm weather. We're traveling to our cabins, camping, fishing, and out and about, loving life. That's why it's a good idea to take just a little time out of your busy summer, and set something up 'just in case' the unimaginable happens.
An important step in taking care of yourself and those you love is getting a Health Care Directive in place. Health Care Directives give guidance to your family members should something happen to you. Bri's Lodge is having an event that you won't want to miss.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS FREE EVENT?
If you are 18 years of age or older, you should have a Health Care Directive, or HCD. What would happen to you if you had a car accident and ended up in a coma? What if you became sick and weren't able to speak for yourself? A Health Directive will speak for you, so those who love you don't have to make decisions about your life without knowing what you would decide for yourself. Put yourself in the position of having to make a life-or-death decision for someone you love. Wouldn't you be more at ease KNOWING that the decision you had to make aligned with their wishes?

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
Here's a look at what you will learn:
What a Health Care Directive is
How to choose a Health Care Agent
How to reflect on values, beliefs, and preferences
The legal requirements to make your HCD official
WHY IT MATTERS
Why should you come to this event?
To prevent confusion and family conflicts
Reduce the emotional burden on those around you
It can be overwhelming to do alone
