MONTICELLO'S LET'S CHALK EVENT WAS A SUCCESS

Last weekend, Monticello held its annual Let's Chalk! A free, two-day street art festival, that features chalk art created by professionals and amateurs alike. 23 Professional artists from all over the country and Ukraine attended this fun, local event on Saturday and Sunday last weekend from 10 am to 5 pm. Approximately 4 -5,000 people attended over the two-day festival. Mayor Lloyd Hilgart organized the event.

FOOD FUN AND CHALK

This was the 3rd Annual Let's Chalk! 2024 event and it included a great bunch of talented artists, food vendors, and live music. I'm so amazed at the 3D effects these artists can create. How do they feel knowing that rain will eventually wash away their amazing creations? Well, they must be okay with it, right? This is the thorn that all sidewalk chalk artists bear.

THE CREATIONS THROUGHOUT THE DAY

I spoke with Jackie M. who went to the event. Jackie said,

"We went early in the morning and the artists were still working on their pieces. We went again in the afternoon after my daughter's nap and most of the pieces were done! I'm so glad we decided to go again and see the finished products."
