When you go to a concert, there are a few things that you think about and a few things that might not cross your mind.

You might think that you get to see your favorite country artist, in-person, performing on a giant stage while you have the time of your life.

But, for the artist, things might not be as easy as they seem.

Jelly Roll Says Eric Church Taught Him How to Do This

Jelly Roll was a recent guest on Taste of Country Nights On Demand, and the conversation turned toward live shows and performing. After all, Jelly Roll has seemingly been on the road for the past couple of years, non-stop.

We asked him which country artist that he once opened for taught him the most about performing live and about stage presence.

The "Save Me" singer replied, "You know who taught me that recently, was Eric Church. So, I was on tour with Eric Church."

"Now I always believe in stepping back and letting people have their moment, but Eric is really good at letting every person on that stage, when it's their moment, he gets out of the way and lets them have their moment."

The "Save Me" singer continued gushing about Eric Church.

"Whenever I would come up and sing with him, the couple times I was blessed to come on stage with Eric, I mean, he would get as far back from me as possible," Jelly Roll continued, "I thought that was just really tasteful of him."

It seems as if Church made a lasting impression on Jelly Roll, who is now in the spotlight and is able to pass that focus onto his opening acts on his headlining tour.
