Luke Combs Just Became the First Artist in History of Music to Achieve This
Until recently, only 8 country songs had ever reached Diamond status, as certified by the RIAA. Diamond status means that the song sold more than 10 million copies — Luke Combs' "Beautiful Crazy" became one of those rare overachievers on June 12, 2023.
In 2024, he has not just one-upped himself, but two-upped himself with two more Diamond-certified songs.
Per Billboard, Combs' hits “When It Rains It Pours” and “Hurricane" have recently hit the mark. The superstar was awarded with plaques stating as much during a Grand Ole Opry appearance on Tuesday (Aug. 13).
As one of country music's most successful radio hitmakers, he's used to getting new hardware, but this recent feat finds him establishing a new category all his own. Combs is officially the first artist to achieve three Diamond-certified country songs ... ever.
While at the Opry this week, Combs was also given plaques for his 2019 album, What You See Is What You Get, and his 2022 album, Gettin' Old, going Platinum.
He has told us in the past that he has a whole separate garage at his house where he keeps all of his trophies, but at this rate, he's going to need a barn!
