Cody Johnson Effortlessly Delivers National Anthem at MLB All-Star Game [Watch]
Cody Johnson was on hand to sing the National Anthem at the Major League Baseball All-Star Game in Arlington, Texas on Tuesday (July 16). He kept his version simple, but it was executed flawlessly in his on-brand Southern style.
In a video shared on social media, Johnson is introduced in his home state of Texas. He stands in the middle of the field at Globe Life Field and, like the gentleman he is, removes his hat before delivering "The Star-Spangled Banner".
Johnson Followed Ingrid Andress' Viral National Anthem at the MLB Home Run Derby
Major League Baseball is keeping it country during this week's festivities, Ingrid Andress sang the National Anthem ahead of the Home Run Derby on Monday (July 15), one day before Johnson. Unfortunately, her rendition was less well-received than Johnson — she's received heavy backlash online for what some are calling the worst version of the song possibly ever.

Andress issued a statement on Tuesday admitting that she was intoxicated during her performance. She has enrolled in a rehab facility to address some deeper issues.
"I'm not gonna bulls--t y'all, I was drunk last night," Andress wrote in a statement on social media. She adds, "I'm checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need. That was not me last night. I apologize to MLB, all the fans, and this country I love so much for that rendition."
Prior to her Derby performance — her first in quite some time — she sent an email to her fanbase informing them of what she's been battling over the past year, saying she was at the "lowest point I've ever been."
