Minnesota Fire Department Explains New Child Safety Law
It seems like every few years there are more recommendations or even laws going into effect to help keeps kiddos safer in cars.
As of August 1st, in Minnesota the law requires "Every driver who transports a child or children under the ages of 18 years old in a motor vehicles is required to have the child or children restrained in a child safety seat or seat belt.".
It's decently straightforward but the Duluth Minnesota Fire Department shared a Facebook post outlining what that means depending on the age of children being transported:
As you can see if the child can be placed in one or more of the categories, they then need to be placed in the more protective one.
A lot of research has gone into keeping kiddos safer in motor vehicles and doing it the right way can make the difference on their safety should there be an accident.
