Breaking the Ice: Vikings’ New Uniforms Defy Tradition in Multiple Ways
The Minnesota Vikings have a new uniform and helmet to add to the mix for the upcoming season, the new "Winter Warrior" whiteout uniform will certainly be a fan favorite.
The new alternate uniform features several new design elements, including a new font used on the helmet and the jersey, the jersey numbers have a new "icicle drip" accent, and the back neckline of the jersey features a Nordic knot pattern that represents Vikings Head Coach Kevin O'Connell's mantra: "Our Way, Our Process, Our Team".
The new "Winter Warrior" uniform will also include a couple of firsts in team history, including the first non-purple helmet, and it's the first time a Vikings uniform won't feature any gold, instead they've used a metallic gray as a nod to Viking armor.
Don't expect the Vikings to use these alternate uniforms very often, as of now, the team has announced only one game this season when the team wear the hot new duds. The uniforms will debut at the yearly Winter Whiteout game on Monday, December 16th when the Chicago Bears come to U.S. Bank Stadium.
If you want to get your hands on one of these hot new jerseys, the Vikings will have them available on their official shop starting tomorrow, June 7th at 8 AM. I have a feeling that these will be top sellers going into the season.
The new uniforms have been in the works for several years, the Vikings debuted their "Winter Whiteout" uniforms in 2022, and they say that those were used "as a sort of market survey on the ultimate goal of a head-to-toe white look."
