Minnesota Man Loses Both Legs in Serious Crash
Shoreview, MN (MinnesotaNow)-- A devastating two-vehicle crash occurred in a northern Twin Cities suburb Sunday night.
The crash happened just before midnight at Hodgson Rd. and Grove Ave in Shoreview leaving one driver with life-altering injuries.
First responders were called to the scene after reports of a crash where one individual was initially believed to have been ejected from their vehicle. However, reports indicate paramedics later clarified that the victim may have been struck and pinned between two vehicles.
Upon arrival, deputies found a 49-year-old man from Burnsville on the ground, suffering from significant injuries to his legs.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 17-year-old male from Shoreview, was uninjured.
Authorities quickly transported the Burnsville man to Regions Hospital, where both of his legs were amputated due to the severity of the injuries, according to the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office.

The Minnesota State Patrol has taken over the investigation, and while the exact cause of the crash remains unclear, authorities have ruled out impairment as a factor at this time.
