‘Black Panther’ Is Getting a Sequel, Obviously
You’ve seen the box office numbers, right? In recent months, while promoting the release of his upcoming indie feature I Love You, Daddy, Louis C.K. has been asked about rumors of his sexual misconduct that have circulated for years. Given that some parts of his film eerily — and perhaps even brazenly — evoke those rumors, it’s a fair question, but one he has repeatedly dodged, refusing to validate those rumors by so much as acknowledging them. Mel Gibson Is Planning a ‘Passion of the Christ’ Sequel
Faith-based films have been riding a wildly successful wave for several years now, only recently stumbling a bit with the underwhelming box office returns for God’s Not Dead 2. And while that seemed to indicate that faithful audiences might not be too keen on sequels, Mel Gibson may very well prove that theory wrong as the actor and director is apparently plotting a sequel to The Passion of the Christ.
SNL Revives Dana Carvey’s Church Lady to Judge Our Choices Accordingly
It’s been several years since Dana Carvey’s Church Lady graced us with her benevolent presence, but Church Chat finally returns to SNL — and not a moment too soon. With Donald Trump running for president (what a world) and pop culture run amok, we, as a nation, are truly in need of sage wisdom from Carvey’s shrewdly devout Church Lady.
There’s a ‘Three’s Company’ Movie in the Works, Are You Really Surprised
With the endless stream of reboots and re-adaptations and remakes and reimaginings and re-whatever-other-word-we’re-using-now (revivals!), news like this becomes inevitable. Chances are, if you even vaguely recall a classic television show, it’s going to come back, and the best you can hope for is something like 21 Jump Street. At worst? It will cinematically haunt your soul, revealing the true insidious nature of your nostalgia like no horror you have ever known before. And with that Herzog-ian thought, we move onto today’s news: New Line is developing a movie based on Three’s Company.
