KFIL brought you more high school volleyball action Thursday night, in a 3 Rivers Conference battle between the Fillmore Central Falcons and the Caledonia Warriors. It was Senior Night in Caledonia, with the Warriors seniors playing their last regular match on their home court.

It started late, but we were happy to stay up. The first set was as back-and-forth as the B-squad matchup that made us late. Nine ties and four lead changes later, and the Falcons took set one 25-22. Set number two saw the teams tied six different times. Caledonia ended the set with a 3-1 run and evened the match at one apiece with a 25-23 win. So tied 1-1 in the match, we saw 6 more ties in the 3rd set, Caledonia ended on a 6-2 run, and went up 2 sets to 1. Set number 4 started out about the same and saw the teams tied 6 times again-Caledonia ended the set with a 5-1 run and took set number four and the match.

KFIL Subway Player of the Game for Fillmore Central was Kenzie Broadwater. Quiet in the first set, she got things going when Fillmore Central had to rally to stay in it, and delivered 11 kills. For the Caledonia Warriors, Sam Schroeder takes home Subway Player of the Game honors. Schroeder had a couple ace serves in the contest and attacked well, with five of her dozen kills coming down the stretch in the fourth set. The Kingsley Mercantile Game Ball was awarded to Lydia Lange. Lange was not in the starting six, but every time she was on the floor, she was making a difference. A number of kills by Lange gave Caledonia breathing room at crucial moments.
