The 2016 'Stars on Ice' tour skated its way into Minnesota over the weekend, as stars from the figure skating world descended on the Xcel  Energy Center in St. Paul on the afternoon of Sunday, May 1.

Skaters on the tour include Olympic gold medalists Charlie White and Meryl Davis, World silver medalist Ashley Wagner, United States champions Gracie Gold, Jeremy Abbott, Ryan Bradley and Adam Rippon, and a host of other National, World and Olympic medalists.

Sunday night's event also included a couple of young Rochester figure skaters. Sisters Emma and Abby Schroeder, who skate with the Rochester Figure Skating Club were among 40 Minnesota skaters who participated in the opening act of the second half of the show.

“It was an amazing experience to skate at the Xcel Center and to meet the professional skaters," Emma, who attends Kellogg Middle School, said, "because my life goal is to perform in professional ice shows some day, such as Disney on Ice.”

“It was awesome to meet with all the stars and to be a part of their show," Abby, who is a student at Hoover Elementary School, added.

Check out video of the performance and see for yourself how proud the 40 skaters made the 'Land of 10,000 Lakes' and how well the Schroeder sisters represented Rochester! Congratulations to both girls on getting the chance to perform in this event and for doing such a great job!

'Stars on Ice' is celebrating its 30th year of touring, having performed more than 1,500 shows during that time. It is scheduled to return to St. Paul again in 2017...
