It's been a long wait, but the Twins are back in the playoffs.
They actually "backed in", securing the spot while losing to Cleveland.  The Twins have been very successful since moving to Minnesota, appearing in three World Series while winning two.  They've actually been in the majors for over a century, previously known as the Washington Senators.  93 years ago this week, the Senators won their first pennant, going on to beat the New York Giants in the 1924 World Series.  The Senators were know for their futility, spending more time in last place than most other teams.  As the infamous saying went, "Washington, first in peace, first in war, last in the American League".  The Twins will open the playoffs with a one game playoff at New York against the Yankees.  That's sounds depressing, because the Twins can't seem to beat the Yankees.  Don't be foolish in count them out, though.  Manager Paul Molitor, a St. Paul native, is a proven winner.  Get ready for the upset!
