I recently learned something new. Chatfield and Fillmore Central schools each have a trap shooting team! How cool is that! And apparently trap shooting is the fastest growing Minnesota school sport in member numbers, with just over 8,000 members. The Chatfield team has 21 athletes and shoots out of Chatfield Fish and Game Club. Fillmore Central, shooting out of Harmony Area Conservation Club, has thirteen trap shooting team members, three of which are females, Mikayla VandeZande, Payton Schwingle and Grace Springer. Five members of the FC team will travel to Alexandria on June 11 for State tournament qualifying. Those athletes are William Nolan, Matson Kiehne, Brogan Hahn, Dustin Daniels and Bronson Hahn. If they qualify, they will head to State in Prior Lake on June 20. Good luck!
