Stop what you're doing and go work for General Mills. WCCO is reporting that General Mills has just expanded their parental leave policy which includes an extension of maternity leave to 18-20 weeks! Oh, and it's 100% paid maternity leave too! The current maternity leave offered at General Mills: 6 weeks. This more than doubles what expecting moms currently get!

That's not the only thing that General Mills is changing up in their policies either. For expecting fathers, partners, or parents who are adopting, they'll now get 12 weeks paid leave.

And it still doesn't end there!

They're also extending paid leave for caregivers, bereavement, and short-term disability benefits. Caregivers will now be able to take up to 2 weeks paid leave when an immediate family member had a serious health condition. For bereavement, employees are now able to take up to 4 weeks paid leave for the death of an immediate family member. And for short-term disability, they can get up to 8 weeks 100% paid or up to 26 weeks 65% paid.

General Mills chief human resources officer, Jacqueline Williams-Roll, told WCCO that they determined how to change their policies based on how employees responded to certain questions. Jacqueline said, "We spent a lot of time talking with employees at different life stages and asking questions about their pain points and what contributes to feeling torn between work and home.”

The change will take effect on January 1st, 2019.
