Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Deputies manning the security station at the Olmsted County Government Center were caught by surprise last Tuesday.

A man who was passing through the station emptied his pockets and threw some change and a clear plastic baggie into the collection basket. When asked what the white crystal substance in the baggie was, the man muttered an expletive and then said “my meth.”

Sure enough, the man was carrying 1.5 grams of methamphetamine into the Government Center. It turns out that 29-year-old Zachary Lutzke was on his way to meet with his probation officer. Instead, he was taken to jail and booked on a felony drug charge.

It’s possible the meth may not ever have been detected if Lutzke had left the little baggie in his pocket.
