Last night, KFIL broadcasted the boy's basketball game between Houston and Grand Meadow. It was a great back-and-forth battle all the way through, with 15 lead changes and 7 ties! GM lead 30-27 at the half. Each team at one point had a seven-point lead, but both times the opponent fired back.  With time winding down, Houston was forced to foul, and junior Superlark Connor King sank two cold-blooded free throws with 4.3 seconds left to extend the GM lead to four. The final was 62-61 in favor of the Superlarks after Houston hit a three at the buzzer.

The “Player of the Game” awards went to Micah Schutte of the Hurricanes (team high 17 points, 3 steals, 3 assists), and Michael Stejskal of the Superlarks (14 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 assists).

The “Game Ball” was awarded to Reid Buschmann of Grand Meadow, with an 18-point performance including 5 three pointers.

We have a lot more coming up on KFIL this week! Tonight, we feature girl's hoops with Chatfield visiting Fillmore Central. Thursday, we have the Houston boys again as they host #2 Spring Grove in the shelter. Friday we have Plainview-Elgin-Millville visiting Lewiston-Altura in boy's action. All slated for a 7:15 pregame show on KFIL & kfilradio.com.
