More boys basketball was on KFIL Monday night. Spring Grove took on Fillmore Central, winning by a score of 74-24. Fillmore Central played without senior Riley Means, who was out due to symptoms of the flu. Alex Folz's symptoms had tapered off just enough so he felt just good enough to play for Spring Grove.

In the early going, Spring Grove had the edge. The first six points, and then 19 of the next 21 points scored were from the Lions. The score was quickly 25-2. Spring Grove had their press going, worked hard on the offensive glass, and Chase Grinde got the ball in the lane several times in the first half. The score was 39-9 at the half, with Chase Grinde scoring 18 of those Lions points. With a couple players in some foul trouble early, Spring Grove sent in Jordan Jaster, who made an impact in the first half. Jaster drew a charge and nabbed an offensive rebound in his first minute on the floor in the game. More rebounds and a couple points followed into the second half.

Spring Grove started the second half with 5 straight points. It was a little back and forth after that, with a couple passes thrown away by the Lions, who are still working to better their game as the season winds down. The crowd was near a frenzy when Grinde attempted a slam dunk to finish after a steal, but that was one thing that didn't work for the Lions. The game stayed out of reach, and the final was 74-24. Spring Grove has now defeated Fillmore Central in seven straight meetings.

KFIL Subway Player of the Game for the Fillmore Central Falcons was Nate Haugerud. Nate scored 6 points and shot 4-of-5 from the free throw line.

KFIL Subway Player of the Game for Spring Grove was Chase Grinde. Grinde led the way with 23 points, grabbed a number of rebounds, especially on defense, and will likely set the Spring Grove all-time record in career steals this week.

The KIngsley Mercantile Game Ball went toe Alex Folz. The Spring Grove Lion playing through flu-like symptoms scored 16 in the game and dished out some great passes for what may have been a double-double.
