The Southland Rebels defense held strong and made it tough on the Fillmore Central Falcons as the Rebels were able to come away with a 28-18 win in Adams on Cool 104!

The Falcons got on the board first, but the Rebels were able to dominate the 2nd and 3rd quarters and eventually scoring twice in the fourth to get a comfortable lead.

After Josh Peters scored on a 31-yard score to get the Falcons a 6-0 lead, the Rebels were able to connect on a 30-yard strike on fourth down when Dan Boe connected with Lee Wilson to give the Rebels a 7-6 lead at the break.

Southland's defense continued to make it tough on the Rebels in the third, and the Falcons struggled to move the football. Boe was able to connect with Owen Smith to give Southland a 14-6 lead headed into the fourth. Then, Lee Wilson took over. He was the lead back all day and he found the paydirt twice in the fourth to seal it for the Rebels.

The Falcons made it interesting after Peters ran in another score and then caught a pass from Zach Haugerud to make it 28-18.

Wilson ended up with 99 yards to lead the Rebels and three total touchdowns, while Peters ran for 122 yards and two scored, also catching one to lead the Falcons.

With the win, the Falcons fell to 2-3 while the Rebels advanced to 2-3.
