The Southland Rebels' offense got off to a great start, along with a phenomenal pitching from Jared Landherr and Lee Wilson, helped the Rebels beat the Mabel-Canton Cougars 14-0 in the Section 1A East Subsection quarterfinal.

Landherr and Wilson combined for a no-hitter, while Landherr was perfect through 3 in his start with two strikeouts, while Wilson walked one batter, and finished up the game.

It was four straight hits to start the first inning and all four scored including RBI hits for Eli Schwartz and Parker Bringham to help Southland build a 4-0 lead. The Rebels came back with two more runs in the second with an RBI single from Landherr that scored Wilson, and then Landherr eventually scored on a wild pitch.

With a 7-0 lead after three, Bringham hit a two-run inside-the-park home run to start off a seven-run inning to help the Rebels take a 14-0 lead after four.

Wilson, Landherr, Schwartz, Bringham, Owen Smith and Bret Mathews recorded hits for the Rebels in the win.

Mabel-Canton struggled offensively and defensively, which was just too difficult to overcome. Logan Richardson played a solid centerfield for the Cougars to get the Player of the Game award, while Landherr's performance at the plate and in the box landed him the Player of the Game for Southland.
