Zumbrota, MN (KROC-AM News) - An early morning rollover crash near Zumbrota has claimed the life of a Mower County woman.

The State Patrol says 32-year-old Cassandra Sims of Sergeant was a passenger in a car that was traveling south on Highway 52 just north of Zumbrota around 5 AM. The driver, 27-year-old Jesse Juaire of Rochester lost control after the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway and he over-corrected, causing the car to roll.

Sims, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected during the crash. Juaire and another passenger, 39-year-old Meless Bruton of Austin, suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

The State Patrol reported Juaire showed signs of impairment after the crash and was transported to the Goodhue County Jail.

Initially, the State Patrol was told there were four people in the vehicle and a K9 was brought to the crash site to search for the person until investigators determined there were only three occupants of the car.
