A Section 1 Football team has annouced that it will forfeit the first round matchup that was scheduled for this Tuesday.

Lyle-Pacelli loss to Houston this past Wednesday 40-22, finishing their season. 16 players are on the Athletics roster, and after a hard-fought battle with the Hurricanes, the Athletics season will end.

Lyle Public Schools annouced on their Facebook page that they would forfeit their quarterfinal game with Spring Grove. You can read the post below.

It was a tough year for the Athletics, but credit goes to them as they battled with a minimal number of players for eight weeks and each week they continued to grow as players on the field and people off the field.

It is never easy to make this decision like this, but Lyle-Pacelli has the safety of the kids in mind.
