The Trojan's defense shined bright as Rushford-Peterson topped Heritage Christian 57-30 in the Class A consolation bracket.

Rushford-Peterson led wire-to-wire as it all started with Dawson Dahl. He had the first five points for the Trojans to set the tone early. Dahl's defense didn't disappoint either has he did a great job of making the Eagles rush their offense.

Dahl led the squad with 14 points, while Ben Ansell had another great game with 12 points and eight rebounds.

The Trojans fast start jumped out to a 21-8 lead in the middle of the first half. The low scoring game was aided by R-P's pace of play, and the fact that they held the Eagles to just 31% shooting.

The offense of Rushford-Peterson was methodical, and balanced. Three guys were in double-figures with Dhal, Ansell and Landon Skalet with 10. It was great ball-movement and excellent defense that led the Trojans.

A great start to the second half was opened by a nice run to take a 39-19 lead with 11:20 to play. That lead stuck, getting the Trojans a 57-30 win.

Rushford-Peterson will play Hinkley-Finlayson tomorrow morning at 8am on 103.1 KFIL.
