Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester woman is reporting she was raped early Tuesday by a man who had offered her and her boyfriend a ride home from a downtown bar.

Police Capt. John Sherwin says the two  - both in their 40s - were “pretty drunk” when they left the bar with the man around 11:00 PM. Sherwin says the man drove to an area behind the 4th St SE Holiday station and by then, the woman had passed out. Her boyfriend says that’s when the man threatened him with a tire iron and ordered him to get out. The man then drove off with the woman still inside and her boyfriend walked home.

The woman says the man raped her in the car and then drove back to where he had left her boyfriend and let her out. She went to the Holiday station and police were contacted around 2:00 AM.

Sherwin says investigators later located a suspect and he has been arrested. Sherwin says charges may be filed Wednesday against 24-year-old Bakil Dahir.
