The Southland Rebels were able to pound in four touchdowns in the first quarter to lead them to a 43-8 victory over the Kingsland Knights Friday night on Cool 104!

Nick Boe scored the first touchdown on a 10-yard touchdown run, and after the Knights threw an interception, Southland QB Carl Mueller connected with Jared Landherr on a 62-yard touchdown to give the Rebels a 14-0 lead.

The Rebels got another touchdown from Noah Sayles and Landherr in the first half to extend their lead to 34-0 at the half.

The Knights just couldn't sustain a drive on offense, having either penalties or turnovers cost them possessions. The Knights tired to get the game started on the ground with Dallas Jones, who had 12 first-half carries, but the Rebels defense stood stout.

In the second half, the Rebels took seven minutes off the clock on the first possession,  really making it difficult for the Knights to make a comeback. The Rebels tacked on a field-goal on that possessions that almost iced the game.

Lee Wilson and Matt Mueller scored rushing touchdowns and the Rebels came away with a 43-8 victory.

In the fourth quarter, the Knight's QB Ethan Fenske hit Reid Kreugel for a touchdown, but it was a little too late.

The Knights fell to 0-3, while the Rebels moved to 1-2.
