Nothing is over til we decide it is! I've heard that clip from "Animal House" so many times at Rochester Honkers games, but this time around, let us see what the Minnesota Wild are going to do.

Down 3 games to nothing, the Wild were in dire straits on the road for Game 4. A first period goal from Charlie Coyle was all they needed, though Martin Hanzal added one in the second. Now down 3 games to 1, the odds might not be as bad. Did you watch the World Series last year? How about last year's NBA Finals? Comebacks are commonplace these days!

Those were just 3-1 deficits. So how common has it been in the NHL to come back from down 3 games to nothing? Well...2.2 percent of teams down 3-0 in a series have come back to win in 100 years of the NHL. But a recent comeback by the LA Kings gives up hope. The Kings were down 3-0 to San Jose in 2014...yes, LA won the Stanley Cup that year. Before that, the Flyers came back from a 3-0 deficit to make it to the Stanley Cup Finals, losing to the Chicago Blackhawks. Toronto was the first team to come back from down 3-0 and won the Cup back in 1942!

All I'm saying is, of all Minnesota sports teams, this one would have a chance. They can play some physical hockey, they get a lot of shots on, and they should have won the first two games anyway. Also, the video clip of Dave Roberts stealing second against the Yankees in the 2004 ALCS came up on my Facebook feed yesterday. I see that as a sign.
